Do you want an entry-level class on sewing and garment construction? Do you have a sewing machine but are uncertain how to use it?

Join us for a hands-on introductory course where you will construct a pillow using fabric you patchwork yourself! This class is perfect for the aspiring sewist who is curious to try sewing or the self-taught sewist who would like to increase their knowledge and technical skill set.

Only 5 places!

Students will work on Janome HD-3000 and School Mate 7330 straight-stitch home sewing machines and Janome and Babylock home sergers.

Students will:

Be given examples of patchwork quilting

Cut different types fabrics for their pillow;

Determine which size and shape they want their pillow to be,

Sew it into that shape, as well as stuff the pillow and finish it.

All sewing tools will be provided by Rightfully Sewn Academy and it's donors in order to promote and encourage a sustainable future in the fashion industry. Rightfully Sewn has fabric available for you to use, but this is a good class to use up left over scraps from other projects that you might have laying around.
